Mechanical Engineer Research, IRD (Innovation, Research & Development) m/w/d 100%

Work location: Dietikon, Switzerland

Target & Purpose of the position:

  • NPD (new product development) -> Design and Development of new Automatic Strapping Tools and Machines
  • Further development and standardization of the strapping products and subsystems in consideration of the latest product methods and technologies

 

Key responsibilities:

This will be a wide and varied role, but these are some of the tasks you can expect:

  • Research Engineer will be responsible for the Design of the Automation Strapping Tools/Machines and Subsystems etc.
  • Innovative development of subsystems or series products; From the idea ... to the finished product.
  • Define and implement technical market clarifications
  • Designing and Supporting of the HMI system as per the requirement.
  • Knowledge of the new technology, mechanic, material, process etc.
  • Control system and motion Control system for our Packaging Machines
  • Execute and responsible for functional and prototype test in cooperation with other departments, compile and prepare the results
  • Product optimization during the IRD process
  • Support of the product managers in respect to the product optimization / finding solutions
  • Conduct and lead project meetings, prepare the meeting documents and write protocols
  • Lead the projects by example, conviction and assertiveness and with sensitivity 
  • Responsibility to track cost and achieve targeted cost on development projects
  • Customer visits to track and monitor performance of products during development phase
  • Collaboration in special IRD projects

What we’re looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanic & Engineering from a reputed University
  • Language skills:German, English
  • Training in design, mechatronic or automation with further education at a higher technical college HF or a university of applied sciences FH in systems engineering or mechanical engineering with corresponding specialization.
  • Industry Experience of 3 - 10 years in similar kind of Automation Projects or Systems
  • Work Experience with 3D-Solid Works / CREO CAD systems
  • Technical Experience
  • Willingness for occasional business travel
