EU Business Application Manager m/w/d 100%

Work location: Dietikon, Switzerland

Target & Purpose of the position:

The Application Manager is responsible for managing legacy systems that are supported by the Corporate IT function and providing oversight for all other European legacy systems managed primarily by the business. Over time business applications will be transitioned to be managed through Enterprise IT where the business application manager will be responsible to ensure these applications are properly onboarded and managed by Enterprise IT resources or external vendors. For these business applications the Business Application Manager will be responsible to support the design, development, release, and maintenance of business application systems that improve processes and support critical business strategies.

The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of IT systems including software platforms, software development along with strong project management skills and strong customer focus.  Proven problem solving of complex issues involving cross-functional teamwork is required.  The candidate must be able to excel in a complex, and fluid work environment.

Applications in the portfolio center around ERPs with a primary focus on Navision, Syspro and Exact where the business application manager will have a team of resources (including external partners) to manage the work.

Where applicable the business application manager will implement proper SOX controls to ensure compliance.

Key responsibilities:

This will be a wide and varied role, but these are some of the tasks you can expect:

  • Own management of applications
  • Own management of application projects
  • Own management of application maintenance and support
  • Vendor management
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Management of IT SOX controls

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree with business, computer science, information systems, business analysis.
  • Thorough understanding of ERP related business processes
  • 5+ years direct experience with managing a diverse application portfolio
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with sufficient ability to appropriately and effectively communicate across all levels and functions within the organization.
  • Self-confident, assertive and present a positive attitude
  • Good organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to communicate with internal customers in a non-technical manner.
  • Excellent written & verbal English communication skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Europe (ca. 25%)
